Emilie Thalund, an award-winning director from Copenhagen, Denmark, gained international acclaim in 2018 by securing gold at YDA Cannes Lions for her debut film, 'Period'—a bold and artistic exploration of a globally taboo topic. In the same year, she was named "Talent of the Year" within the Danish advertising industry. Since then, she consistently crafts visually stunning narratives, collaborating with brands such as IKEA, Coca Cola, Burt’s Bees, and Pandora. Her work for Zenbusiness was shortlisted at Cannes Lions for a Glass: The Lion for Change in 2023.
Prior to her directing career, Emilie graduated from the Royal Danish Academy with a master’s degree in Art & Architecture. Transitioning from fine arts to film, she is known for being a sensitive observer and a visually strong narrator.
Currently, Emilie Thalund is in development on her first feature film, promising an even deeper dive into her creative vision and storytelling.
