Amara Abbas

Amara Abbas is an American-Pakistani director born and raised in Chicago. A keen observer, she brings her bold visual language and fresh narrative thinking to work spanning commercials, music videos, and short films for brands including Under Armour, Lexus, and Woodford Reserve, as well as the Skrillex music video Xena.

Her background as an in-house Art Director at Apple brought a sharp creative instinct to her transition into directing. Intent on discovering new ways to tell human stories, she works across genres and formats, bringing the same empathetic eye to a brand campaign as she does to her own personal work.
