Biography
Ludvig Frøkjær Thomsen could never have escaped his destiny as a filmmaker. Shaped by an upbringing immersed in art, literature, and classical music, it wasn't long before he had a camera in hand. Cutting his teeth assisting directors Tore Frandsen and Casper Balslev at new—land in Copenhagen, Ludvig found his groove in stories that mix heart and fragility with a wry, nostalgic humour.
His work has quickly gained recognition: 'The Hairline' earned Silver at Cannes Young Directors Award and Gold at Ciclope Berlin (2025), while 'Tummy Troubles' took Gold at the True Awards. Ludvig’s work stems from his keen instinct for observation: lingering long enough to catch the moment when tragedy and humour collide.
