Olivia Kastebring
Olivia Kastebring is a Stockholm-based director specialising in documentaries and story-driven narratives. She’s known for her ability to capture the full spectrum of human emotion in a raw, and yet sensitive, way, with a unique talent for making her characters feel comfortable in front of camera.
Her 2017 documentary, SILVANA, won Best Documentary at that year’s Guldbaggen (Swedish Film Institute Awards), going on to see a theatrical release in Scandinavia and Europe, while her short film, JUCK, won at Berlinale Generation in 2019 and still tours festivals and museums around the world to this day.
Most recently, Olivia directed Alexandra, a poetic portrait of Stockholm's Queen of the Night, the woman who founded Sweden's first modern night club at just 22 years old. Premiering at Gothenburg Film Festival in early 2025, the film will premiere in Sweden this October.
Some of Olivia's recent commercial clients are SEB, Lindex and Matas.
