Iran-e Man
Naghmeh Pour
Information
Iran-e Man was created as part of the Women Life Freedom Project initiated by the Iranian-Italian brand Pairi Daeza, and consists of a scarf collection created by twelve Iranian artists based around the world. The scarves are printed with messages capturing the spirit of revolution, which appear as trailing scarves in the film. All profits from sales are donated to the human rights organisation Abdorrahman Boroumand Center to support the movement in Iran. The idea was to create a visual poem that celebrates the cultural history of Iran and spark hope in the movement.
Naghmeh Pour
Born in Iran and raised in Denmark, Naghmeh is a Copenhagen-based director with a deep commitment to storytelling. Always drawn to literature, she studied English and Scriptwriting at the University of Southern Denmark before becoming a director. Influenced by Iranian cinema, her work is defined by visual poetry, symbolic detail, and an emotional sensitivity that uses metaphor to evoke reflection and connection.
In 2023, she directed Iran-e Man for Pairi Daeza as part of the Women Life Freedom Project. Conceived as a visual poem exploring collectivity as a form of defiance, the film went on to win at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Eurobest, YDAs and shots, where Naghmeh was named New Director of the Year. Since then, she has directed Ffern’s Summer Campaign 2025, Pink Sky At Night, starring Bill Nighy, as well as the award-winning campaign Name The Bias for Ethnicity Pay Gap Day, a call to action against systemic inequality in the UK.
