Louise Wachtmeister is a Swedish-American Director, born in New York and raised in Stockholm. 

Drawn to the complexities of people's behaviour; Louise’s work explores what’s beneath the human condition. The fear beneath anger, the tenderness beneath distance, and the small moments that can quietly change a life. With stories deeply shaped by her own experiences, Louise brings sensitivity and precision to her storytelling, finding emotional depth in seemingly ordinary situations and creating characters that feel specific, contradictory and profoundly human. 

In 2025, she was named a Rising Star at Roygalan, with her directorial debut for the Swedish Cancer Society, inspired by her own experience of losing her mother to cancer, was awarded Gold at the 1.4 Awards and Silver at Ciclope.
