Leonard Rääf is a Swedish writer/director based in Copenhagen. His work within fiction and advertising gravitates towards narrative filmmaking, focusing in on emotional stories of the human experience.
Before moving to France to study at the International Film School of Paris in 2016, Leonard worked as a film director at an advertising agency in Sweden. He'd spend all the money he earned on passion projects – one of which became the multi award winning short film Renard Rouge. The film claimed the main prize Best Nordic Short at Nordic International Film Festival in NYC. Leonard has currently written and directed four short films, with the latest one being Hiding Behind Masks (starring Rosemarie Mosbæk, Marie Boda and Martin Brygmann).
Additionally to making fiction, Leo has directed international campaigns for brands such as IKEA and McDonald’s. His commercials often tap into a cinematic take on everyday life. With much attention to details that carry a bigger story, he refers to his style as "perfectly undone”.
