September 30, 2022

new—land Stockholm was the proud winner of five awards at this year's Roy Awards, Sweden's most prestigious advertising awards, yesterday.

Marcus Ibanez, fresh from a Grand Prix in Film Craft: Direction at this year's Cannes Lions, won both Best Film, for his film for H&M Denim via Forsman & Bodenfors, and Best Director.

Laerke Herthoni won Best Use of Music for her film for Volvo, 'The Future is Electric' (also produced via Forsman & Bodenfors), which makes such distinctive use of Irving Berlin's 'Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better)', performed by Ethel Merman & Ray Middleton (for which credit has to go to music supervisor Jenny Ring).

Elsewhere, the up-and-coming Actor-Director, Alexander Abdallah, was named 2022's Rising Star for his collaboration with new—land Stockholm and the Swedish jeweller Maria Nilsdotter, 'Dream a Dream'

Maceo Frost won Best Music Video for 'I've Understood', his poignant collaboration (including co-writing the track itself) with Swedish rapper Robin Nazari.
