VS Mag - Aspirational
Matthew Frost began his career directing short films, before moving on to creating music videos for bands such as M83 and co-writing the script for the film Wassup Rockers with Larry Clark. From music promos he moved on directing commercials and fashion films, working with brands such as Diesel, Nissan, Levis, Louis Vuitton, Kitsune, Nike, Paul and Joe among others.
More recently he has completed projects for Apple, Badoit and Martini. His four recent films for Jalouse, Vogue, Viva Vena and Vs Mag with Kirsten Dunst both went viral after striking a chord with the public, blending fashion ‘It’ girls with blithe humour.
Matthew’s successful commercial and promo career lead him to working in photography and he has quickly become well recognized by the industry, represented by Iconoclast Image. Since moving into photography he has worked with magazines such as Obsession Magazine, Vice, Nylon, Le Monde, Teen Vogue and Jalouse, focusing on a style, which is fashion, narrative and playful. In 2013, Iconoclast published his first book of photos ‘Little People In Fur Coats’ documenting the proliferation of pet cemeteries in LA, NY, Paris, Miami and California.
