Biography
Laerke Herthoni is an award-winning Danish director and screenwriter based in Stockholm. Her work, spanning commercials and short films, is defined by a warm humanity, attentive to family, childhood, and the particular textures of the female experience.
Beginning her career directing music videos, she quickly established herself as one of Scandinavia's most distinctive voices, winning at Cannes Lions and Eurobest, and becoming the first woman to win Best Director at Sweden’s Roygalan. Her short films ‘Alba’, ‘Surprise’ and ‘Weekend’ have screened at several festivals, including the Gothenburg Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest, and São Paulo.
